Decision to stay here over the weekend led to kind of a bonus weekend -- instead of traveling we took it easy. This will be eight days in the same place -- may be a record for us.
Albuquerque friends, Terry and Marie Clements, have bought a house near Fredericksburg to be their retirement home one of these days. Susie called Marie and got directions to the house. We checked it out Saturday. Here it is:
May need a little work. Hope it works out for them.
Just kidding. This is actually the Clements' hill country house:
Sunday featured an all-day drizzle. We went to church, then late Sunday afternoon drove 22 miles to Kerrville to visit with Pat and Wayne Young who were there for a car tour. Pat and Wayne are former neighbors in Cedar Crest (they found our house and recruited us) who moved to Bastrop, TX, about three years ago. Great to see and visit with them again.
Enough for now. Fredericksburg pictures below.
Cheers,
Susie and Rob
Fredericksburg houses:
This little Sunday house was converted into a small chapel adjacent to the present-day Episcopal Church. Note how beams are embedded diagonally in the limestone blocks.
We were told Lyndon Johnson and family sometimes worshipped here when he was a lad in nearby Johnson City.

Here's the former county courthouse, now a city library.
